Dr. Cornel West and Socialism?

The second the interview mention this idea of “free ride”, it caught my attention. The quote that stood out to me was : “Now, you are successful but you are not great. Greatness has to do with what he or she who uses their success for something bigger than them. Service to others.”  I chose this part of the interview because it’s not just about getting the education and getting a job as a doctor, lawyer, or teacher. It’s about more than just the salary but about making a change. It just related to me more. I’m a child of immigrants and to be able to graduate college and go into the law field is a big accomplishment. My goal is to help children find their happiness in their new home so that they can be able to be successful and great. Like the interview said, in order to make America great, you have to have winners. We can’t have winners unless we contribute to the community.
